SUMMARY:

Direct supervision of production employees. Perform a variety of duties consisting of developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing and assembly processes in order to produce products in accordance with company and customer requirements. Knowledgeable in finished goods product assembly processes, product standards and specifications of raw materials. Uses ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, technical manuals, specifications, and work orders in planning and laying out work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of all production employees and meeting all manufacturing, quality, and delivery requirements.

  • Managing the material requirement for the production floor (raw materials, MRO, supplies, etc.)

  • Identification of inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and downtime issues, ultimately leading to improvement proposals and implementation of solutions

  • Utilize root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.

  • Provide manufacturing process support services to existing plant activities as well as new projects and development activities.

  • Provide operator training and develop written job instructions.

  • Responsible for staffing the production schedule to include: workstation assignments, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, changeovers, etc.

  • Coordinate with HR for appropriate staffing levels.

  • Conduct employee interviews and performance reviews.

  • Schedule and conduct shift meetings.

  • Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager.

  • Promote teamwork and build a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Ensure a clean and safe work area.

  • Complete shift paperwork.

  • Assist in production as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  •  Basic reading and writing in English, and basic arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Trained in root cause analysis and technical trouble shooting.

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience.

  • Must be a self-starter, willing to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and employees.

  • Previous experience of leading a department of at least 10+ employees.

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, technical manuals, specifications, and work orders.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

  • Able to read a tape measure.

  • Able to work overtime as needed.

  • Able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed safely and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Able to report every workday, on time and for the entire shift.

  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

This is a day shift position, Mon-Fri, 5am to 1:30pm with expected overtime as needed.

Payrate is $28 to $34 per hour depending on experience.



Pay Details: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
