Electrical Engineer III – Florence, SC

Olsten Staffing is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer III in the Florence, SC area.

Pay Rate: $50.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide systems engineering support for new and existing product programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that systems meet customer expectations, functional requirements, code compliance standards, and safety regulations.

The successful candidate will possess a strong electrical engineering background, experience with complex system architecture development, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage system requirements and support systems engineering activities

  • Conduct system integration studies, validation testing, and performance evaluations

  • Develop and manage program timelines related to systems engineering tasks

  • Prepare and maintain required systems documentation

  • Perform performance studies, cost-benefit analyses, prototyping, and testing

  • Analyze and interpret applicable code requirements

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into subsystem requirements

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure project compliance and successful implementation

  • Support product improvement initiatives through root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and support engineering change management processes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience developing and calculating performance envelopes (duty tables)

  • Strong background in control systems, machines, and drive integration

  • Experience with high-power transformer qualification and integration, including:

    • Step-up transformers

    • Isolation transformers

    • Step-down transformers

  • Strong understanding of system architecture and interaction matrices

  • Experience creating and maintaining local and national code compliance documentation

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project coordination skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with engineering change implementation processes

  • Ability to create technical documentation, including:

    • Test reports

    • Drawings

    • Specifications

    • Compliance documentation

  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies, including DFMEA, Six Sigma, and similar tools

  • Strong requirements management experience with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Ability to create system wiring diagrams using E3 or similar software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous elevator industry experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with:

    • Control systems

    • Machines and drives

    • Dispatching systems

    • Rescue systems

    • Electrical diagrams

    • Code implementation and compliance

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience

Work Environment

  • Majority of work will be performed in an office setting.

Pay Details: $50.00 per hour
