SUMMARY:
Safely operates a single layer unwind slitter to produce rolls of media cut to size. Safely operates 5000 lb. forklift to unload, store and issue large rolls of media. Will become familiar with and troubleshoot production equipment. Also performs general manufacturing duties, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Loads, Unloads, Sets and Adjusts Slitter and operates all ancillary equipment in the work cell
· Accurately records/captures rolls consumed and machine times
· Generates data labels for subsequent work cells
· Uses common tools and/or fixtures to accurately produce slit rolled goods
· Performs Preventative Maintenance on slitter and forklift as per schedule
· Offloads Rolled Goods from shipping containers with forklift
· Stores and Retrieves Rolled Goods with forklift
· Operate within standard operating procedures
· Communication with Operators and Supervisors
· Clean and maintain work area.
· Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
· Complete daily production reports as necessary.
· Perform back-up for others as required
· Provide on-the-job training to new employees
· Promote teamwork and build a culture of continuous improvement
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
· Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
· Able to accurately read a tape measure.
· Ability to lift to 50 pounds required.
· Able to work overtime as needed.
· Able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed safely and wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
· Able to report every work day, on time and for the entire shift.
· Must have positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Shift Schedule: Mon - Fri, 6:00am to 1:30pm
Pay Rate: $18/hr
