Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Florence, SC
Pay Rate: $60/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overview:
Olsten Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Florence, SC area. This position provides system engineering support for new and existing elevator product programs. The role is critical in ensuring delivery of complete elevator systems that meet customer requirements, functional expectations, and all applicable safety and code standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and report the impact of design changes (components or sub-systems) on overall elevator system performance and envelopes
Develop dimensional studies, including 3D modeling and analysis
Conduct performance studies, cost-benefit analyses, prototyping, and test planning
Perform code requirement evaluations and ensure compliance
Gather system-level requirements from stakeholders and translate them into sub-system specifications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, field operations, marketing, and manufacturing support
Support product development and troubleshooting efforts using engineering tools and methodologies
Conduct root cause analysis and participate in DFMEA, DFM, and related engineering processes
Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and support engineering change processes
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong mechanical engineering background, including system and component design
Experience with performance envelope development (duty tables)
Proficiency in 2D layout tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
Strong 3D modeling skills with ability to analyze interfaces and interferences
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with engineering change implementation processes
Knowledge of root cause analysis, DFMEA, and other engineering tools
Experience with requirements management and stakeholder collaboration
Familiarity with Mathcad for design documentation is a plus
Previous elevator industry experience strongly preferred
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of experience, or
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience

Pay Details: $60.00 per hour
