 Senior Mechanical Engineer – Systems Engineering

Pay Rate: $58.00 – $64.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Olsten Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Systems Engineering. This role provides system engineering support for both new and existing elevator programs. The Senior Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in delivering complete elevator systems that meet customer expectations, functional requirements, applicable codes, and safety standards.

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluate, analyze, and report on the system-level impact of component or sub-system changes on elevator system envelopes.

• Develop dimensional and performance studies, including 3D modeling, cost-benefit analysis, prototyping, test plans, and code compliance evaluations.

• Gather system-level requirements from stakeholders and decompose them into detailed sub-system requirements.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, field operations, marketing, factory support, and other internal teams to ensure requirements are met.

• Support product development and product support activities, including issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in accordance with established engineering processes.

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in complex system-level integration.

• Mechanical and system modeling, as well as component design experience.

• Experience developing performance envelopes (duty tables).

• Proficiency in creating 2D layouts and engineering studies using AutoCAD.

• Advanced 3D modeling skills with the ability to analyze interfaces and interferences.

• Experience with root cause analysis, DFMEA, DFM, and other investigative engineering tools.

• Requirements management experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with engineering change implementation processes.

• Experience with Mathcad for design documentation is preferred.

• Prior elevator industry experience is strongly preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience

OR

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience

• Majority of work performed on-site.

Pay Details: $58.00 to $64.00 per hour
