Engineer – Product Support & New Product Introduction
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate Per Hour $45
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide product support for existing elevator components and electrical systems, while driving improvements and integrating new designs into current platforms. This role plays a critical part in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Support, ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, and quality commitments. The engineer will work cross-functionally with global and regional teams to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing product support activities.
Evaluate opportunities and integrate new component designs into existing systems.
Ensure projects align with agreed cost, quality, and timeline targets.
Collaborate with global, regional, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Conduct needs analysis, cost-benefit analysis, trade-off studies, and risk assessments.
Lead and perform Electrical Qualification Testing for projects and products.
Prepare or support system-level Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA).
Verify design requirements through modeling, simulation, and testing.
Interpret and work with schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and building layouts.
Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and develop innovative solutions.
Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and field personnel.
Integrate, validate, verify, and troubleshoot pre-production systems.
Contribute to roadmaps, strategic plans, and testing for electrical systems.
Support PCB updates and related design improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection, and control systems.
Familiarity with North American electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, CSA, ASME, NFPA, TSSA preferred).
Background in wiring diagrams, system analysis, motor and control applications.
Experience working with suppliers, third parties, and code enforcement agencies.
Proficiency with ECAD tools (Cadence, AutoCAD, E3, Creo).
Understanding of PCB assembly and manufacturing processes.
Hands-on lab experience with electrical architecture, embedded software, and test equipment.
Advanced Excel and office tool skills for calculations and documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in cross-functional teams.
Elevator systems knowledge is a plus.
Additional Details
This role is primarily office-based (design, analysis, documentation).
Requires strong computational and circuit calculation skills.
Emphasis on electrical code knowledge and schematic design.
Limited hands-on field work; focus on engineering, planning, and documentation.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour
