Mechanical Design Engineer – Florence, SC
Recruiting on behalf of a well-known company in the Florence area

Olsten Staffing is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Design Services Group in Florence, SC. This team supports North American Elevator Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain operations.

Position Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing 3D models, drawings, and design solutions for a wide range of mechanical hardware and components used in elevator systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly collaborative, and passionate about innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design support to internal and external customers

  • Modify and develop component solutions to enhance product performance and reliability

  • Develop component- and system-level models and drawings

  • Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues

  • Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in 3D solid modeling and 2D detailing using Creo

  • Experience with Windchill

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • High energy, creativity, and problem-solving mindset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal fabrication, welding, castings, molds, machining operations)

  • Proficiency in GD&T for parts and assemblies

  • Ability to perform tolerance analysis calculations

Education

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting/Design (or equivalent experience)

  • Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Pay Details: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour
