Electrical Automation Technician – Bethune, SC
Olsten Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Automation Technician for a manufacturing facility in the Bethune, SC area. Pay range from $30.46 to $39.00 depending on the experience. Hours will be 8pm - 8am and training will be 1st shift.

In this role, you will work closely with operations to ensure all equipment is operating at peak performance. As part of a team, you’ll troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems using a combination of electrical and mechanical skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct issues in power distribution, electrical equipment, and lighting systems.

  • Install, maintain, repair, calibrate, and test electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instruments.

  • Service motors, starters, controllers, and other electronic control and communication equipment.

  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, aligning, and replacing components like filters, motors, pumps, etc.

  • Select and install appropriate wiring, conduit, switches, breakers, and fuses.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.

  • Maintain and follow all safety standards including HAZMAT, MSDS, NFPA 70/70E, ZES, IES, ISO, and PM procedures.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial lifts to transport equipment and machinery.

  • Contact vendors for technical support and parts when necessary.

  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and in confined spaces.


Qualifications:

  • Certification and 5+ years of maintenance experience OR an Associate’s degree in a related field.

  • Must meet WorkKeys assessment requirements for Electrical Technician.

  • Experience with electrical systems up to 480 volts required; exposure to 12,470-volt systems preferred.

  • PLC troubleshooting experience required; PLC programming (Allen-Bradley) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with control networks and operator interfaces (iFIX experience is a plus).

  • Strong computer skills, including MP2 (CMMS) and Excel.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred—especially in carding, lamination, web handling, and nonwovens.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs manually; heavier parts will require lifting equipment.

  • Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial lift certifications.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and serve as a team leader or independent contributor.
