Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in Cheraw, South Carolina to find an experienced and eager Loom Maintenance Technician to join their growing team!
The Loom Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing mechanical malfunctions on flagged looms, starting new creels, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance. The role ensures safe, efficient, and continuous operation of weaving equipment while maintaining plant safety and housekeeping standards.
Primary Functions
Essential Job Responsibilities
Repair looms as flagged by Machine Operator.
Patrol looms to detect mechanical or operational problems.
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
Perform weaver duties when required.
Conduct rapier head inspections.
Check and replace rapier cutters as needed.
Enter repair and setup data into LDMS and Barco systems.
Maintain general housekeeping in assigned area.
Observe all plant and company safety rules, including lockout/tagout procedures.
Operate forklift.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Plant Manager, Technical Coordinator, or Process Engineer.
Authorized Training Period
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing during the shift, primarily on concrete flooring.
Occasional sitting as needed when performing lower-level maintenance tasks.
Regular movement throughout the assigned loom area to inspect equipment and respond to mechanical issues.
Occasional use of a step ladder to access upper machine components.
May lift and/or move parts and materials; team lifting or mechanical assistance required for heavier components.
Occasional pushing or pulling of tool carts and equipment.
Frequent reaching in various directions to access machine components.
Occasional bending, stooping, or squatting to service equipment.
Visual ability sufficient to inspect machinery, read gauges, and enter data.
Ability to communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Environmental & Safety Requirements
Frequent contact with carbon, fly, binder, size, oils, greases, solvents
Required use of PPE (eye protection, gloves, protective clothing) as necessary
Annual audiogram (per company policy)
Hearing protection required in posted plant areas
Strict adherence to all plant safety rules, including lockout/tagout procedures
Mandatory Qualifications
High School Diploma (per company policy) or GED
Previously qualified as a Machine Operator
Valid driver’s license
Must be able to work any shift
Minimum 50th percentile score on Bennett’s Mechanical Comprehension Test

Pay Details: $19.57 per hour
