Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in the Cheraw, South Carolina area to find an experienced and eager Laboratory Technician Helper to join their growing team!

The Laboratory Technician Helper supports the Quality and Food Safety team by assisting with routine laboratory testing, sample preparation, and documentation. This role helps ensure products meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist laboratory technicians with routine testing of raw materials, in-process product, and finished beverages

  • Collect, label, and prepare samples for chemical, physical, and microbiological analysis

  • Perform basic tests such as pH, Brix, carbonation (CO₂), syrup checks, and visual inspections as trained

  • Clean, sanitize, and organize laboratory equipment, glassware, and work areas

  • Prepare testing materials, solutions, and supplies following standard procedures

  • Accurately record test results and production data in logs or computer systems

  • Support quality checks on the production floor as needed

  • Follow all GMPs, safety rules, and company quality standards

  • Assist with audits, inspections, and special projects when requested

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework in science or food technology a plus

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality, or laboratory support preferred but not required

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed

  • Must follow all safety and PPE requirements

  • Dependable and punctual

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to learn laboratory and quality procedures

  • Organized and detail-oriented

Must be able to work any shift.

Pay Details: $13.50 per hour
