Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in the Bennettsville, South Carolina area to find an experienced and eager Laboratory Technician to join their growing team!
The main responsibility of the Laboratory Technician is to support the lead engineer in executing laboratory testing and validation activities to ensure products meet applicable industry standards.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluating components (motors, contactors, transformers, relays, thermostats) to ensure that they meet requirements.
Instrumentation of motors and heaters for long-term durability and performance testing.
Lab organization, gathering equipment due for calibration, 5S protocol
Populating Microsoft Excel lab reports, graphing .CSV data in Microsoft Excel. Fine-tuning the reports per Lead Engineer feedback.
Establishing and monitoring the background conditions (system voltage, ambient temperature) for product validation testing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent (BS preferred)
5–10 years of instrumentation experience, or 0–5 years of engineering experience with demonstrated hands-on lab proficiency
Strong project management skills and ability to meet commitments with high ethical standards
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Self-directed with strong initiative, organization, and time-management skills
Knowledge of AC/DC electrical circuits required
Experience with electrical motors, heating equipment, and low-voltage controls strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) systems (Solid Works preferred) and peripheral equipment desired.
Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
Take charge individual with lots of energy and clear sense of urgency.
Keen attention to detail on drawings, and in the graphing of laboratory data.
An excellent team player.
Lab experience working with volt meters and oscilloscopes. Experience with current transformers, thermocouples, and DAQ measurement systems a plus.
HVAC Experience is a plus.
Pay rate is based on experience.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour
