Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in the Cheraw, South Carolina area to find an experienced and eager Loom Maintenance Technician to join their growing team!
The Loom Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical malfunctions on flagged looms, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, starting up new creels, and supporting production operations to ensure optimal loom performance and uptime. This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair looms as flagged by Machine Operators.
Patrol assigned looms regularly to detect and correct mechanical problems.
Follow and complete preventive maintenance schedules.
Perform weaver duties when required to maintain production flow.
Conduct rapier head inspections and replace rapier cutters as needed.
Enter repair and setup data into LDMS and Barco systems.
Maintain general housekeeping in the assigned work area.
Observe all plant and company safety rules and report any unsafe conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Plant Manager, Technical Coordinator, or Process Engineer.
Machines, Tools, and Equipment Used:
Dornier looms
Electrical and gas-powered industrial trucks
Variety of hand tools, tool box, and carts
Materials Used
Various yarns
Loom setup sheets and weave data sheets
Sandpaper, rulers, and related materials
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Stands and walks on concrete floors 7–8 hours per shift.
Performs maintenance on lower sections of looms for up to 6 hours per shift, depending on repair needs.
Patrols loom operation approximately 8 times per shift; looms may be spaced as close as 18 inches apart.
Lifts and transports disassembled or replacement loom parts weighing up to 80 lbs. (assistance required for lifting over 50 lbs).
Uses ladders to access upper portions of weaving machines.
Pushes/pulls tool and equipment carts as needed.
Requires frequent bending (75–100 times per shift), squatting (15–20 times per shift), and occasional work from floor level.
Requires manual dexterity to reach and service small or enclosed loom areas.
Must have minimum 20/40 corrected distance vision and 20/30 corrected near vision.
Requires effective communication to coordinate repairs and report findings.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily on the production floor in a manufacturing setting. Exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and airborne fibers is typical. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be always worn.
This position will start at $19.57 an hour.

Pay Details: $19.57 per hour
