Olsten Staffing is seeking a Treating Mechanic to support the Treating Department by performing electrical and mechanical repairs and maintenance. This role is essential in maintaining safe operations while supporting production and quality goals within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on equipment including motors, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems
  • Maintain and service plant support equipment such as air compressors, dryers, HVAC units, lighting, pumps, and material handling equipment
  • Monitor and support the safe operation of the treating production line
  • Operate and maintain gas-fired equipment, including burners, space heaters, and LP systems
  • Assist with chemical unloading and handling as it relates to pumps and system components
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks and work orders through the CMMS system
  • Maintain clear communication with operations teams during all work activities
  • Support inventory control by tracking and reporting parts usage
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Utilize hand and power tools, meters, scopes, and other specialized equipment
  • Perform basic welding (arc and MIG) and torch work as needed
  • Assist with maintenance projects, shutdowns, and team support as needed
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, including basic PLC and ladder logic
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Willingness to learn and grow technical skillset

Work Environment
This position operates throughout a manufacturing facility and involves working around production equipment in varying temperatures and industrial conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and work in confined or awkward positions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools regularly
  • Comfortable working in high temperatures and dusty environments

Schedule
This is a full-time position. Shifts may include:

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Overtime may be required, including weekends, holidays, and during maintenance shutdowns.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience
Starting Pay Rate: $24.33 – $28.00 per hour (based on education and experience)
