Olsten Staffing is seeking a Plant Mechanic in Laurinburg NC to repair and maintain plant machinery and support equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on production machinery, including twisting, weaving, winding, and re-spooling equipment
- Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance on all production and support equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Assist with maintenance needs across multiple departments, including converting and treating areas
- Replace parts and maintain accurate records in accordance with established procedures
- Monitor and help maintain parts inventory, notifying leadership of any usage or shortages
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform maintenance on production vehicles, including forklifts, tuggers, and pallet jacks
- Assist with general plant maintenance and special projects, including shutdown work
- Support continuous improvement efforts such as 5S and TPM initiatives
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Work Environment
This position works throughout a manufacturing facility and involves exposure to production equipment, varying temperatures, and industrial conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and work in confined or awkward positions
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Comfortable working in high temperatures and dusty environments
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Shifts may include:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Overtime, weekends, holidays, and plant shutdown work may be required based on business needs.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
The starting pay for this position ranges from $21.95 to $24.44 per hour, depending on experience.

Pay Details: $21.95 to $24.44 per hour
